Marquee Size Guide

It can often be difficult to know which size of marquee you’ll need to accommodate the number of people you expect to attend your event, whether it’s a lavish wedding or a small and intimate garden party.  
There are plenty of different things to consider, such as what else you expect to put in the marquee, for example a bar, dining tables, DJ Booth etc. This is our guide to how many guests will fit the different sizes of marquee that we hire to clients in and around South Yorkshire, with one eye on the other things you might need space for.  

3m Wide Marquees

3m x 3m Pop-Up Marquee

You can squeeze as many as 12 people into a 3m x 3m Pop-Up, if they’re standing. If they’re seated or you have other things in the tent such as a trading or dining table then this number will be reduced.  

3m x 6m Pop-Up Marquee

You can fit 24 people into a 3m x 6m Pop-Up Marquee if they’re standing. This number will be reduced if they’re seated or you have additional furnishings within the tent.  

3m x 9m Pop-Up Marquee

This size of tent will accommodate up to 44 people, depending on the other furnishings. It’s a great size for around 30 people seated at a long table down the centre of the tent.

4m Wide Marquees

4m x 6m Pop-Up Marquee

Up to 50 people can squeeze into the 4m x 6m Pop-Up, but additional furnishings such as tables and chairs will reduce this number.

4m x 8m Pop-Up Marquee

This huge pop-up marquee will take up to 60 people beneath it, or around 30 seated auditorium style, or at a large table through the length of the tent. If you place two smaller tables across the tent then this number may come down to around 16. 

6m Wide Marquees

6m x 6m Pop-Up Marquee

Up to 60 people will fit into this size of marquee, but it’s a great size for multiple tables and chairs, which will reduce this number.

6m x 9m Pop-Up Marquee

Easily large enough for around 90 people standing, with closer to 45 people seated at tables. This number will be reduced further if you include a DJ booth, or a bar area, or something similar.  

6m x 12m Pop-Up Marquee

In our largest Pop-Up Marquee you will comfortably fit up to 120 people beneath the vast canopy, with space for around 60 people seated at tables, or if you have additional furniture inside.  

9m Wide Marquees

9m x 3m Modular Marquee

This size of tent will accommodate up to 44 people, depending on the other furnishings. It’s a great size for around 30 people seated at a long table down the centre of the tent. 

9m x 6m Modular Marquee

Easily large enough for around 90 people standing, with closer to 45 people seated at tables. This number will be reduced further if you include a DJ booth, or a bar area, or something similar. 

9m x 9m Modular Marquee

Up to 150 guests or visitors can fit into this large marquee, with this number reducing to around 75 when seated at long, or round tables. This is a very popular size for weddings and beer festivals, so the number may come down further if you include a bar, catering tables or DJ booth and dancefloor.

9m x 12m Modular Marquee

175 guests can comfortably fit into the 9m x 12m Marquee, with around 90 when they are seated. Additional furnishings may reduce this number, so consider a larger size if you need to cover larger numbers of people.

9m x 15m Modular Marquee

Suitable for up to around 200 guests standing and over 100 people seated. This number may be reduced with the additions of furnishings such as Bar, buffet table, or DJ booth and dancefloor.

9m x 18m Modular Marquee

Ideal for many large functions, including weddings, festivals and corporate events. This will accommodate up to 250 guests, but adding something like a stage will reduce this number.  

9m x 21m Modular Marquee

Approximately 300 people will fit inside the 9m x 21m Marquee, which makes it ideal for most outdoor event purposes, including ceremonies, trade villages and festival tents.

9m x 24m Modular Marquee

Our largest standalone structure will cover more than 300 people, but remember these are modular tents, so if you need larger than this then get in touch, we’ll be happy to help.
